Experience

The following is a representative sampling of the types of major projects managed and/or participated in by the staff of Conjar Consulting:

Internet Presence Creation and Marketing: Completely designed and created numerous web sites, including content creation, copy writing, product development and marketing campaign creation and implementation. Sites developed range from simple to complex, from small 5-page sites to large sites with hundreds of pages.

Project Management for Large Insurance Company: Responsible for managing multiple new development projects including Large Deductibles, Reserves, Evaluator Responsibility Assignment and others. Programming and design tasks associated with projects were for Java Web Development, Cobol/DB2 AS400 and Cobol/CICS/DB2 mainframe environments.

Additional responsibilities included development of business and technical requirements, business rules identification and documentation, and standard operating procedures.

Quality Assurance Testing Manager for Large  Healthcare Insurance Provider: Managed project testing and quality assurance activities. Installed the methodologies and structure necessary to perform the testing activities. Successfully managed the testing effort through various phases up to the point of obtaining user sign-off for system implementation. 

Business Analyst Activities for Large Manufacturing Company: Developed an Access Database and reporting system for tracking client project costs.  Client executives use this system for tactical and strategic planning.

Also developed requirements for a new product configuration management process, developed initial requirements for a global collaborative engineering system using Documentum iTeam and  developed initial requirements for configuration management audit reports derived from the Oracle 11i ERP system.

Team Leader Activities on Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Project for Large  Healthcare Insurance Provider: Managed project testing and quality assurance activities. Developed EDW Testing Strategy and Methodology, test plans, case scenarios, scripts and other documentation needed for the testing effort. Assisted Project Director with various managerial tasks, as necessary. 

Also assisted the EDW development team by designing and programming various mainframe processes that were needed for data transformation. Designed and developed a Testing Problem Report Tracking Database system utilizing Microsoft Access. Designed and developed hundreds of queries in both SQL and InfoReports to be used in the testing process for the EDW Oracle Database. Managed the testing team during the formal EDW testing process and met all milestones and deliverables on time or ahead of schedule. 

Upon completion of the EDW Historical Data Load testing, created a formal architecture and methodology (including various testing tools) to be used by company staff for future EDW "Delta" update testing efforts.

Quality Control Activities for a major world-wide standards testing organization: Served as Senior QC Analyst for a new international testing channel (Great Britain and Northern Ireland driving license tests and construction industry certification tests) that included applications for Test Registration & Scheduling, Delivery & Distribution, Results & Revenue Reconciliation and Test Production. Responsible for development of application business rules, testing strategy, test plans and comprehensive test cases for all applications. 

Also Responsible for various Quality Control functions such as program analysis (Visual Basic  and Clarion), application testing, problem reporting and resolution verification, application release processes, etc.

Y2K Test Planner for a major world-wide standards testing organization: Managed Y2K conversion effort for national testing channel which included applications for Test Registration & Scheduling, Delivery & Distribution, Results & Revenue Reconciliation and Test Production. 

Responsible for development of Y2K current-date and future-date test plans for over 100 applications which included over 2000 test cases and more than 8000 test case scenarios. Assisted in managing the efforts of the test team including allocation of resources, assignment of tasks, overseeing various quality control  procedures, etc. Assisted in development of all testing documentation including test plans, work breakdown schedules, testing summary reports and project completion reports.

Senior Technical Activities for a Major Investment Firm: Served as a senior member of the consolidated statement project team. Responsible for development (all phases) of the initial statement group assignment process which also handled account additions, deletions and modifications; also served as a member of the Quality Assurance team which audited statements, reviewed coding changes, developed test plans for system enhancements, etc. 

Web Development Services for a Major Hospital System: Developed and published a comprehensive Human Resources Web site using enterprise-wide web standards so that the site could be seamlessly incorporated into the hospital system's existing enterprise web.

Project Management and Senior Technical Activities for a Major Hospital System: Managed and provided senior technical services for 8 different projects including Outpatient Billing, OP Charge Capture, and HSCRC Regulatory Reporting systems. Technical services provided included all standard analysis, design, programming and implementation procedures.

Senior Technical Activities for a Major Banking Institution: Made substantial modifications and enhancements to the Automated Loan System by Systematics. Designed, programmed and implemented numerous interfaces to other bank application systems.

Project Lead and Senior Technical Activities for a Major Software Firm: Provided project lead activities and worked on analysis, design, and programming in support of Medicare Claims processing system installed at numerous client sites nationwide. Each client site required significant system modifications to address unique needs.

Director of Information Technology for a leading Healthcare Information Services Provider: Responsibilities included managing application development projects for clinical data analysis and cost containment activities; recruiting, training, and developing staff; facilities management; standards development; network management; developing technical support program; proposal generation; budget management; and corporate strategic planning.

Built highly skilled staff able to move quickly and decisively to meet corporate commitments. Kept technical skills sharp by assisting in design, analysis, and programming of various systems including major hospital cost accounting system, complex clinical data analysis applications, and claims processing functions.  Application development projects managed included in-house technical support applications, client production systems, client ad-hoc analysis/reporting projects, and marketable software packages.

Senior Training Activities for a Multi-National Information Services Company: Services provided included developing and teaching both technical and business training seminars; consulting; developing and testing new training methodologies; and assisting in positioning company to change hardware and software technology platforms. Technical training seminars included TSO/ISPF, RACF, MVS JCL, CICS, programming techniques, etc. for both corporate personnel and outside clients.  Other technical activities included developing and maintaining application systems used as models for courses and workshops.

Senior Technical Activities for a Major Casualty Insurance Provider: Designed, programmed and implemented components of a nationwide teleprocessing system for on-line claim functions. Developed on-line Premium and Loss Recording systems. Served as Assembler expert for programming staff.

Senior Technical Activities for a Major Wholesale Company: Designed, programmed, and managed various financial and manufacturing application systems including on-line Customer Billing, Inventory Management, etc.

Senior Technical Activities for a Major Manufacturing Company: Designed, programmed, and implemented numerous systems and managed several projects in the manufacturing industry (concentration on real-time systems). Also managed small group of programmers.
